Spa essentials: the small objects that make the difference
The bucket, the ladle, the sand timer: small things that turn a cabin into a sauna. What you need at the very least, and what to look out for.
For the sauna
A wooden bucket with a plastic liner, a ladle in wood or copper, a thermometer with hygrometer and a 15-minute sand timer. A headrest and seat towels protect the timber from sweat.
For the hot tub
A good cover, a thermometer, a skimmer net and a simple water test strip. For daily use: a filter set.
Scents and care
Pure essential oils (pine, eucalyptus, birch) diluted in the water for the ladle — never directly on the stones. For the timber: light sanding and, now and then, paraffin oil on the benches.
