Preparing for delivery and installation
A sauna or hot tub is big and heavy. Good preparation turns delivery day into a short job instead of a long one.
Access
Measure the narrowest passage: gate, garden path, doorway. A 200 cm hot tub will not fit through a 90 cm gate — it then has to go over the hedge with a crane, and that is something you plan in advance.
Base
Flat, level and load-bearing. For a hot tub: at least 2,000 kg per four people. For an outdoor sauna: paving on a stabilised sand-cement bed or a concrete slab, frost-free.
Connections
Have the electrician lay the cable in advance (correct cross-section and residual-current device) and keep a water point and drain within reach. For a wood-fired stove: the flue and the floor plate.
On the day itself
A clear route, someone at home and a plan for the packaging waste. Then it is usually done in half a day.
